Forestillingen MISTEKUNST utspiller seg i skjæringspunktet mellom et personlig sammenbrudd og forsøket på å nærme seg en katastrofe som ikke er ens egen. I dialog med palestinsk poesi utforsker stykket kunsten å miste – og spenningsforholdet mellom solidaritet og umuligheten av fullt ut å forstå andres erfaring. I tilknytning til urpremieren på Bergen Dramatikkfestival inviterer vi til en samtale om språkets og scenekunstens mulighet til å nærme seg det som synes ubegripelig.

På scenen samles Marius Kolbenstvedt, dramatiker og utøver i MISTEKUNST, og Dalia Taha og Ghayath Almadhoun, to av de palestinske poetene forestillingen går i dialog med, i en samtale ledet av Rana Issa, forfatter og kunstnerisk leder i Masahat. Sammen undersøker de hva som skjer når kunst forsøker å bygge ned avstanden mellom det å bevitne og å erfare – uten å utslette forskjellen mellom dem.

Hvordan kan poesi og scenetekst åpne rom for nærhet til en virkelighet som samtidig motsetter seg forståelse? Hva betyr internasjonal solidaritet når katastrofen fortsetter? Og hvordan kan kunsten bidra til å holde oppmerksomheten, språket og forestillingsevnen levende i møte med en vold som risikerer å bli normalisert?

LANGUAGE OF LOSS

The performance MISTEKUNST unfolds through a personal breakdown and an attempt to approach a catastrophe that is not one’s own. In dialogue with Palestinian poetry, the piece explores the art of loss — and the possibilities and limits of solidarity. In connection with its premiere at Bergen Dramatikkfestival, we invite audiences to a conversation about the possibilities of language and theatre to approach that which seems incomprehensible.

On stage, Marius Kolbenstvedt — playwright and performer in MISTEKUNST — joins Dalia Taha and Ghayath Almadhoun, two of the Palestinian poets whose texts are woven into the performance, in a conversation moderated by Rana Issa, author and artistic director of Masahat. Together, they explore what happens when art attempts to navigate the distance between witnessing and experiencing — without erasing the difference between them.

How can poetry and dramatic writing bring us closer to a reality that resists understanding? What does international solidarity mean when catastrophe continues? And how can art help sustain attention, language, and imagination in the face of violence that is becoming normalized?
